What is Main Street?
Tucumcari MainStreet is a two-year startup community and a participant in the New Mexico Economic Development Department's New Mexico MainStreet program. Tucumcari Main Street's local sponsors are the City of Tucumcari, the Greater Tucumcari Economic Development Corporation and the Tucumcari/Quay County Chamber of Commerce.
The state program utilizes a proven grassroots approach to economic development (For more information on the New Mexico MainStreet program, click HERE).
The state program is a project of the Main Street Movement sponsored by the National Trust for Historic Preservation (For more information on the Main Street Movement, click HERE). The Movement uses a Four-Point Approach® that across the nation has proven time and again to be the backbone of sustainable economic development.
